I have a cabled ODBD-II reader that I picked up from Harbor Freight. It has paid for itself many times over. The BT version looks nice - no cable in the way. Does it read 'live'? A few times I have had to had mine hooked up and reading while I went down the road in order for the problem to crop up and a code to appear. |

yes, it reads live which i think would see the codes that disappear when at the dealer |

how cool is that!
Nicole can't get her Iphone to pair with the OBD2 reader, but my Google pix2 (Android) paired with no problem.
The car has not showed an engine light but my phone with the free Torque app picked a P0304 code which is a cylinder 4 misfire. At least, we know what it is (and it seems to be a common problem for the car) .
It's always good to know the engine won't blast it's way out through the hood. |

previous repair was a split coil boot on cylinder 4. (had all kinds of oxidation at both end connectors from water getting in) and really bad plugs on cylinders 3 and 4
The honda place in Amos had charged over 250$ for checking the plugs, which they didn't do!!!
The Honda place in Val D'Or spotted the problem right away.
BTW: to inspect/change spark plugs on a 2013 Honda Fit: They are between the engine and the firewall. You need to remove everything on top, including wipers!!!
Now have a p0303-p0304 code, leading to injector problem.
Whichever Ninjaneer dropout came up with that idea is FIT to be tied...
back to Val D'Or again today |
